Church History


Ruth Fellowship Ministries Inc. was founded under the leadership of Rev. Tracey L. Brown, in Plainfield, New Jersey.  This ministry was incorporated October 1, 1996.  Rev. Tracey L. Brown was commissioned and installed as Pastor of Ruth Fellowship Ministries by Rev. M. Laverne Ball, Pastor of the Rose of Sharon Community Church on April 17, 1999.


The Diaconate Ministry included Deaconess Jean Brown, and Deacon Douglas Brister and the Trustee Board included Sister Wendi Looney and Sister Lisa E. Stephens.  The founding members of the Ruth Fellowship Ministries are Deaconess Jean Brown, Sister Ellen (Connie) Bradby, Sister Sandra L. Malloy, Sister Blondell Bailey, Sister Gail Johnson and Sister Wendi L. Looney.


Ruth Fellowship Ministries first service was held at the Plainfield Armory in Plainfield, New Jersey on May 2, 1999.  Then Ruth Fellowship Ministries relocated on February 6, 2000 to the Metropolitan 7th Day Adventist Church on West 4th Street in Plainfield, New Jersey.  On March 29, 2001 Ruth Fellowship Ministries purchased the property at 733 South 2nd Street and held their first service on June 23, 2001.


Ruth Fellowship Ministries has gone from 17 members on April 17, 1999 to over 600 in 2005.  Under the leadership of Pastor Tracey L. Brown, Ruth Fellowship Ministries has been blessed to go from a praise team to four choirs and 25 ministries.  Ruth Fellowship Ministries is committed to spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all people and to help meet the spiritual and social needs of the community.


This was the Lord’s doing and it is marvelous in our eyes.
